<image:caption>Hello, I’m Julia — Chair of the Little People’s Community Preschool Parent Association and Volunteer School Manager. I’ve proudly volunteered at Little People’s since 2012, the same year my family immigrated to Canada. When searching for a warm, reputable childcare center for my children, all of our neighbors strongly recommended Little People’s and they told me it’s been a beloved part of the Kerrisdale community since its founding in 1970’s. My family benefited deeply from the preschool’s community-centered culture. It laid a strong foundation for my children’s academic and social growth. The amazing teachers and families we met supported us during our early years in Canada and taught us many lifelong lessons. One of the most meaningful lessons I’ve learned from this community is the power of unconditional love and trust in our children. I’m deeply grateful for all that we’ve received from this community. It’s been both a joy and an honor to continue giving back to this wonderful preschool, and the incredible people who make it so special. < Back</image:caption>

<image:caption>I am delighted to be part of the Little People’s Preschool community. Teaching has always been my passion. I studied education in Iran, where I gained several years of experience teaching English to children. These years have given me a deep appreciation for how curious, capable, and creative young learners truly are. I love creating a classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore. My greatest joy is seeing children grow in confidence while discovering new skills and interests. I especially enjoy supporting early literacy and hands-on activities that encourage curiosity and imagination. What inspires me most is the meaningful connection between children, families, and teachers at Little People’s Preschool. I feel grateful to contribute to such a nurturing community and I look forward to sharing many joyful learning experiences together. < Back</image:caption>

In addition to completing my ECE diploma, I’ve also completed both post basic Infant/Toddler and Special Needs programs at Langara. I am an enthusiastic individual who loves to bring joy, patience, and warmth to the classroom. I have vast experience in working with children of all ages, and I believe that each child comes with their own unique set of strengths, skills, and abilities. From my time as a behavioural interventionist, I think that building relationships with children, their families, as well as program staff, are essential in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive. I have a passion for science, ignited by my time developing and implementing programming at Science World. I love showing children how science is a part of our everyday life. My goal is to continue to create various experiences that inspire hands-on learning, foster curiosity, and encourage socio-emotional growth. < Back</image:caption>

<image:caption>Hi, I am Irene! At different points I have studied towards being a dietitian, video game writer, fiction writer, library technician, librarian and archivist, and editor. I also considered database development, web design, and teaching young children. Last summer I revisited the idea of working with children because I enjoy being silly and making people laugh. Working at a toy store reinvigorated my interest further as I loved interacting with the children and families. At the same time, the older I've gotten the more I recognize the importance of and feel strongly about emotional support: how critical it is to a developing mind and the ripple effect it has on a child's current and future personal growth and relationships. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of British Columbia. My course interests were in 18th and 19th century gothic texts. I also have an Award of Achievement from the Game Writing Academy program at, then known as, UBC Continuing Studies. My hobbies are action figure photography, story-driven video games, and Nordic Noir novels and dramas. I have a BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate. < Back</image:caption>

After working as a language tutor for preschool-aged children in Japan and Canada, I decided to start a career as an ECE in Canada, as I found a passion for supporting young children. My aim is to create a safe and enjoyable space for children while encouraging them to learn and explore through play. I would like to support children in building confidence in themselves, collaborating with peers, and letting their creativity shine. <image:caption>Hi, I am Caitlin. I am happy to be teaching at Little People's Preschool. It is my joy to teach preschool. I believe in nurturing the early years of children's education for them to feel capable and inspired in their learning environment. I especially enjoy teaching literacy because I love books! Some of my favourite children's books are from the 'Elephant and Piggie' series by Mo Willems and 'The Bear Books' series by Jane Chapman. My favourite class activity is taking care of caterpillars and observing them till they become butterflies. Through special activities such as these, children get to enjoy learning together, creating a foundation for creativity, curiosity, and life-long learning. Little People's Preschool's dedication to their community is truly admirable. It is a place where children, families, and teachers come to together and create meaningful connections. I am very grateful to be a part of this community and hope that your family will feel the same. < Back</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - Learning Through Play. Community-Focused.</image:title>
<image:caption>At Little People’s Community Preschool, we play to learn and learn through play. In surroundings that are bright and spacious, areas are set up to encourage all types of play. We are a busy and active group, with a focus not just on fun and learning, but also on building a community of friends. In this way, we teach the social and emotional intelligence skills that are fundamental to success in kindergarten and beyond. Our school encourages each child to grow and become aware of others. Emphasis is placed on being considerate and learning that each child has an important place in the group. We promote and expand on children’s self awareness, self confidence, inquisitiveness, socialization, and fitness. Together the parents and teachers are a team that is always there for the children.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About Us - Our Teaching Philosophy</image:title>
<image:caption>We encourage self awareness, imagination, self respect, and being open. We do this so that each child may enjoy and understand their surroundings and peers, allowing them to flourish as individuals. We offer an open creative environment to encourage the growth of each child in their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social skills. We share our years of experience and knowledge with the children and the children share their learning with us. We seize upon endless teachable moments and so provide a full flexible program for each child to enjoy and use at their own pace. With our guidance and encouragement, each day is a new day and every day is a day for learning in these early years.</image:caption>
